Additional Information/Important Notes

Result Clarification
Nonreactive: Total antibodies to Hepatitis B Core were not detected. This does not exclude the possibility of exposure to, or infection with hepatitis. Levels of antibodies to hepatitis B core may be below the cut-off in early infection

Reactive: Antibodies to Hepatitis B core detected. This is presumptive evidence of an acute, chronic, or past infection with Hepatitis B. A Reactive hepatitis B core antibody does not rule out other hepatitis infections.
